Amps out from stock alternator

From searching, it looks like some stock alternators put out 65 Amps, but I see options for "heavy duty alternators" around, but can't find information about how many amps they can support.

And I don't know if they changed things between the different generations of 4Runners.

I'm looking to hook up an inverter for different "what if" scenarios ad am curious as to how many watts would be sustainable (a 1600W from amazon.com runs $45)

I believe they put out 110amps. At least the V8 alternator.

130 Amp alty running at 13.8v (a most realistic #) will support 1794 watts. Knock off at least 50A for engine, lights, etc. leaving about 80A for accessories (1104W).

If you're looking to get this alternator beefed up I only know of two sources.

Mean Green has an alternator that listed for a Toy L.C. w/4.7 rated at 200A. Price I believe is around $375. This will work if casing and hookups are the same.

Dominic Iraggi of Iraggi Alternator is a well known Alty guru. This is a price list of his alternators specifically for the 4.0, but he can do 4.7's as well:

Idle output is 150A for all.

You looking to put a stereo in? What types of speakers/system were you thinking of. If you look at my sig, you can see what I have. I pass the headlight dim test at night even when I get those 2 type r's moving. If you have any questions please let me know.

Wow, that's definately more than I expected!

No, wasn't looking at audio (haha, at this time) but was thinking about getting a power inverter for a) snowstorms and b) running devices in the middle of nowhere and was curious what the largest reasonable one I should be able to pick up.

It looks like if I got a 1600W (peak) inverter, I'd be fine for the most part but trying to run a 3000W would simply drain the battery too quickly.
