amps

What type of amps does everyone have? I'm planning on getting a new headunit from pioneer and probably two 10" subs. I wanted to get a feel of what what would be a good amp for a reasonable price.

I'm looking at these 2 right now:

HiFonics Zeus ZX 5.1 Digital Multi-Channel Amp

or

Audiobahn A5100T Multi-Channel Amp

Both are 6-channel amps that can power fronts, rears, sub & ctr speaker all-in-one. Nice option if you're replacing the JBL 10 Speaker package in a 4th gen.

I am going to install 2 JL Audio 300/4 and 1 500/1. The 300/4 will power the MB Quart Componets in the front and rear and the 500/1 is going to power 2 12W6V2's. I have not got it installed just yet but when I do I will post the pics..

I was thinking about JL 12's too, but I am just going to do the 10w6 (newer ones). I have heard that 10's are all I need. I will probally do the 500/1 amp.

well it depends on what you want. 12's are the way to go but anything JL is good..

The Audiobahn I mentioned above is SICK, SICK, SICK!

The only thing is - it's big. I like my components to be very stealth, and there is limited room in the 4Runner. If you don't mind building a box or attaching it behind your rear seats, the A5100T is the way to go.

I would be willing to sell mine.

I have had great experience with the Hifonics Zeus Z700 amp (which I think now is the Z800 or maybe Z7000). For under $300 on ebay, you'll get a 5 channel amp that puts out (approximately) 50x4 for all the speakers and 250x1 for the sub.

5 years in the back of my jeep with NO problems...knock-knock.... and you KNOW that the jeep has been hopping, jumping, sliding, and bumping with that thing in the back too!

Food for thought. yummy.
