Annoying beep

I recently traded a '96 SR5 for an '06 SE. The '96 had a manual tranny and I used low range often. Upon trying low range on the '06 SE auto tranny an annoying beep occurs. I realize this is to serve as a reminder the vehicle is in L-4. Is there a quick fix to bypass this beeping or should I learn to live with it?

The beep is a warning that 4Lo is not properly engaged. To engage 4Lo without the beep you need to make sure the transmission is in neutral before selecting 4Lo. You then need to wait for the indicator to stop flashing before putting the transmission in the lowest gear.

It took me nearly a week to figure this out and then only by doing the totally unmanly ritual of reading the owners manual. :ybrick::ybrick::ybrick::ybrick::ybrick:

Thanx Grems4Ever, I'll be on the trails within a couple of days and will try this method. Yea for some reason reading owners manual would have been last resort.
