Annoying Unlock Beeps

Does anybody know how to change the volume of the beeps or turn them off? I don't mind the lock beep because it's only once, but the 4 beeps to unlock all the doors?? I'm tired of it and the dealers (about 3 visits to 2 different dealers over the past couple years) have NO CLUE how to change it.

I'm bout to go find that piezo and put some tape over it...who knows where it is?

piezo disconnected - 4th gen

I tried this once before but after reading this link I decided to give it another try.
Find the source of the noise under the hood, direcltly down from the d/s hood shock.
There is a wire going inside the wheel well.
Pry the black plastic ring out, then press the black dot (lack of a better description) next to the hole.
This will pop the noise maker from its mounting and allow the thing to be pulled out and then be removed from the wire harness that it is plugged into.
No more beeps, the lights still flash...........

I did this mod a couple of years ago and don't have any regrets.

Pulling the piezo is cheaper than getting the dealer to do it. It is a matter of using the Scan tool to "Set Custom Body Functions" (or something like that.) Had mine changed to not flash the lights and change the time for the interior lights but they did it right after the sale as a freebie. Would have been a minimum labour charge but it only took 1 minute. If neither dealer you tried has a service writer or tech that knows this then I wouldn't be giving them any of my other business.

Thanks to all in this thread and forum for motivating me with instructions to stop the beep. The neighbor's thank you too !:)

Be glad the horn doesn't honk. This is truly irritating.

I watched a person park a Dodge truck just a few feet from a party sitting at an outside table restaurant. The he walks far enough away and remote locks the car (honking the horn). What a jerk.

Here is a picture. If you notice there is a black plastic disc just below and forward from the hood lift on drivers side. Pull that out from side wall. I located it from general discussions and placing my finger in the circle against the buzzer while pressing remote lock/unlock buttons. My first pic upload. Hope it works and helps...

Great photo. Thanks very much for indicating the location of the piezo. Today I removed it from that area, taped a bunch of paper towels around it and just secured it beside the wiring harness. It's very quiet now. Wayyyyyyyy better.
