So I have a 2005 4Runner Sport Edition, I had the problem with the tailgate not opening and found how to fix it on this forum. Opened it up with the lever inside the rear tailgate, and it started operating fine again. Flash forward to a couple weeks later, the tailgate AND window do not open and it happened at the same time. The rear window does not even open with the key anymore, so it makes me believe it is some kind of electrical problem. Does anyone have any ideas or had this problem where both the rear tailgate and rear window stop functioning at the same time?
