Another Bilstein shock question

It looks like the shock topic is well visited on this site but I have another question. I want to replace shocks on my 05 but I am not doing a lift, just staying stock. Should I still use the 5100 shocks, or something else? Thanks

Probably could have found your answer by searching, this is quite a common one. Yes, you should use them, they are one of the best options for the 4runner. Put them on the lowest setting in the front and you will be set for stock height. Rear is direct swap.

I vote yes. It's hard to beat these for the price. I would suggest at least using the second notch on the front shocks to reduce the amount of rake. It'll lift the front about .8".

I'm running TRD FJ bilsteins with stock height. But as said you run the 5100's just set them to 0.

What kind of ride are you looking for? If you want to keep a stock ride, there are other options to sort of retain that with no lift. But like was stated, the 5100's are great bang for the buck. I have them in my modest lift as well and love them, but they don't exactly ride like ''stock''. Even on the first ring, from what I understand.

I just replaced my stock shocks (40,000 miles) with Bilstein 5100's set on the lowest setting.
I have a 1" spacer (2" lift front) and 1.5" spacer in rear.

I think the ride is stiffer than stock.

If you looking for stock soft ride, others recommend a stock shock replacement like Monroe etc. Bilsteins are stiffer IMHO

If you don't plan on doing any lift. You can save some money and get bilstein HDs

I like the tighter ride anyway so I think the 5100's will be just right, just wanted to make sure they were cool with no lift. Thanks for the help. The other bonus is I can add lift later if I can talk my wife into it (it's mainly her ride; mine is a 97 landcruiser).
