Another Head Unit Question

Will a non-nav, JBL factory 6-disc, non-amplified head unit work in another vehicle as a "stand alone" setup without the rear audio cortol panel or the stering wheel controls connected? That is of course, I have the appropriate amp.
It seems to me that it should. I have studied the schematics exhaustively and I cannot forsee any glitches. Has anyone else done a similar swap? Is it possible that a JBL amp from a Tundra work in my application?
