another Important battery question:

Looking for sound advice:

I am in the process of replacing my stock battery in my 98 SR5.
She is my baby!!!!! I just love my dam 4runner Period the end!
I have been reading alot of "does- and dont's" about batterys> I have been planning on putting an Optima bat in the stock location used as a stand alone source. Reasoning for the idea of Optima is i do run (2) amps drawing alot of power- Also Dvd players, and GPS. I dont want to lose Cranking power but i also want to make sure im getting the most power possible constantly. I am runing a .5 FARAD CAP, No Idea why i went to 1/2/ waste of money.soon to be upgraded.... Anyway: I am running 0 gage wire from front to back. So if anyone has anything simular to what im running and has any experiance with a POWERFUL battery please post. I appreciate all feedback as i cant tell you how many times i have received help from this site! This community is made up of some good people!!!

Jl audio C5- Front- Rears doors 6.6 frnt 5.25 rear
1 extra set VR 1" tweets in A pillars
2x -MTX TR 45 12" in vented enclosure running in parallel @ 2 Ohms. Drawing 250 rms each "supposed to be anyway"
Alpine 500 mono: Mrp m500
Alpine 4 chan Mrp f600
Pushing both amps to there limits. without using gain as volume control. Learned my lesson about what the Gain actually is,,,
1/2 farad cap
Kenwood head unit
2x 8" dvd player: head rests-
GPS

Powermaster XS makes great batteries. A Optima red top in the front and a Yellow top group 31 would be best to add in the back, then you can rid your seld of the capacitor, BUT my buddy is running around 3,000 watts off a optima red top only and he gets minimal voltage drops.

Optima batteries haven't been good in a long time. The original ones were great quality, since being bought out by Interstate the quality has declined quite a bit. I would look into some other audio batteries.

As far as adding extra batteries, a battery is for starting the car, and of course will supply power when the car is OFF. when the engine is running it is the alternator that supplies the power. If you need more amps, you need a bigger alternator. Or i suppose you could pretend you have an electric 4runner and charge the extra batteries every night.

Like Stick Figure said, this is more about your alt. If you want to upgrade that your looking at $250 min.

Right now do you have any diming at night? If not then your fine in my opinion.

If you really want batteries I would put a good cranking battery up front and then a deep cell in the back.
