Did you get a look at it? Did the 4 bolts fail or the joint?

The Joint Failed, popped right out. caused his cv axle to pop out as well, luckily he was just putting along and not driving like I do.

Glad there wasn't more damage. You might also want to address that lower shock bushing, it's looking pretty worn out.

Truck got all new yota BJ's, Shocks, New Napa axle and sway end links.

The difference is that Tacoma ball joints started failing badly enough for Toyota to create a new fail safe LBJ design, which you'll get if you're buying new Tacoma LBJ's today.

1999 Tacoma with original ball joints still has the old design LBJ.

I was just reading the 3 or 4 threads on lbj failures this morning and came across this post from COB. Can anyone provide more information or a link to the design difference in new tacamo lbj's that make them fail safe. Thanks
