Another lift option for 4th gens (w/XREAS)?

Thanks for the link... I've been following this topic for quite a while. Kinda annoying how Donahoe keeps saying it's only a month or two away, then pushing back the release date. Oh well, I guess that's part of the design/manufacturing process... and they know people will still buy since they have a reputable product.

I know Jason Demello has a setup that's similar and already available, though... front Donahoe coilovers w/Deaver springs and Bilsteins in the rear. Supposed to be pretty good (I heard about this through my FJ friends).

i have now had my OME set up for a week and love it! i have driven about 800 miles on it, most on the road but about a half dozen off road trips included. i will also state that i am much happier with my new set up than the stock toyota suspension. the difference off-road is amazing! i can now fly over bumps at high speeds and not even feel it.

i will tell you that my truck sits higher than it did with the cornfed kit. i think i gained about an inch. from the time i ordered to the final install of the suspension was about 3 weeks.

i don"t think you have to wait for donohoe to make their product if you're itching for a suspension upgrade. however, if you want to keep your XREAS a little longer, then it makes sense to wait.

Thanks a lot for the update, dsams. It's nice to get some feedback from someone who has the same truck as me and has made the switch. It's amazing to me that people can remove the XREAS (which is supposed to be "special") and replace it with an aftermarket lift designed for off-road specific performance, which results in a better overall ride. I didn't think that was possible!

I really think the XREAS system was designed for on-road, not off. all it really does is reduce pitching and swaying. after market suspensions tend to be a little tighter than stock. I can't tell a difference in pitching or swaying with the OME suspension versus the XREAS

This is a good setup. Im likely going with it. You can always just upgrade to Donahoe shocks for not that much more money.

By september the rear donahoe rear suspension should be available several people are testing them right now and giving feedback. The donahoe rear suspension is being developed in conjunction with deaver springs but they are only supposed to give 1-2" of lift.

Richard Stubbs is a joy to deal with. He backs up his work and he is great at staying in touch.

Hanna has a good product but his business seems to be just a hobby to him. I have spent over 3 months trying to get sliders and I feel like an idiot for putting up with all of the excuses. I never got that from Stubbs at all.

I have also heard good things about Stubbs, but I recently heard that he had to close his shop, so he's not an option anymore. Shrockworks looks to be a good alternative. I've seen Jim's products and they look well-made.

Wow. I hated hearing that about Stubbs. I went to the web site (www.stubbswelding.com) and the words used there were "business reconfiguration". I hope that he pulls through. My father had a small shop for many years and I know how hard it can get at times.
