Because of the damn drifting scene that exploded good GT-S' and 240's are almost no existent. Hopefully toyota will move forward with the new AE that is suppose to come out, although I'm not a fan of it having a subby engine. It doesn't look good consider honda scraped the new NSX and the S2000 replacement. If the new AE did come out I'd be in a dilemma over getting rid of my Si or not.

Hey folks, my name is Nels and I'm a first time 4runner owner. I've actually been snooping around this forum for about a year... searching for questions that I've had. It's been very helpful.

Anyways, I thought I'd introduce myself and show you what I picked up earlier today.

Nice buy man! The chrome package looks great on that truck! I noticed that dent on the front bumper......did you do that or somebody else? I've seen alot of 4Runners around my hometown here, with alot of dents on either the front or back bumpers. Mine had some on the back bumper when I first bought it, but a really bad accident that my mother got into with my truck, got me a new center bumper, driverside bumper end, and refurbished hatch! So I don't have the dents anymore!

Anyway, nice rig, good luck with the mods, and I hope you enjoy your 4Runner as much as I love mine!

well my thoughts were if i need to buy a code puller, i might as well get one with cool features such as that. ive always wanted somewhat of a unit to monitor all my rigs vitals.

I finally washed the beast so I thought I'd show you guys what I've done cosmetically. Nothing new or original, but I got rid of the running boards and fender trim... as well as tinted the front windows with 20%

I also de-badged the rear gate and started my "crappy-band" sticker collage on the spoiler

And my gt seat covers came in. I went with black because I thought it would tie in with all the black abs up front... and I have a tendency to get grease in my vehicles. Here are some before and after shots. I think they make it look a whole lot cleaner. Next time however, I might go with a dark gray.

And finally... that little red that is showing through indicates that, indeed, my true-flow filter has arrived.

So... I'm back at it with little stuff. I'm a super nerd about things being pleasing to the eye... so I rearranged some vaccum lines and such. I also bought a sandwich plate and a few gauges (oil temp and pressure). When I install my used Eclpise AVN5500 I'll wire those in as well. Here's the progress.

As soon as I get my new gps antenna I'll be installing the AVN5500... I'll be pulling the acc power and light power off of those, so we're kind of in a stand still.

I decided to have a little fun with my "sound system" so I recently put in my new head unit, along with a small amp and a 12" for the rear. Here's the progress.

Here is the mess!

When I was snooping around 4runner.org I saw a write up of a dude who put his amp under his seat. I thought this was a great idea, that way when I need to pull the sub out to haul stuff, it should be easy and I don't have to mess with moving or taking out the amp as well.

Controls are easy to get to.

The sub is an MTX... not sure of the specifics. I just wanted to add a little low end. I'm an avid fan of alot of lo-fi garage rock and pop music (not radio pop... but "good melodies" type pop) so adding too much bass would ruin the feel anyways.

Well... I traded in the 02 for something a bit more my style. The new rig seems to have a great start as far as suspension is concerned as well as a whole bunch of things I woudn't have spent the money on (but they're nice to have).

I think people will kill you for that truck, that looks like the 99 Highlander, so it has Tall Springs, Sport Hood, E-locker, V6 supercharged, 5 Speed, ARB Bumper, and Color Keyed Bumpers. I would watch yourself if i was you. jk
