Found this site about a week ago and figured it was time to sign up. So far this place has been a wealth of information! Great work!
I have a '05 Runner which is hands down the finest build automobile I have ever owned. I grew up in Wyoming where Toyota's (Pickups and 4Runners especially) have always been well respected but this is my first Toyota. I've always liked 4Runners but tried to buy American. But when it was time to replace my Bronco, there frankly was not another SUV on the market that even came close to the 4Runner.
My first vehicle was an International Scout II and I have always owned an SUV (Scout, Bronco II, Bronco, 4Runner). Thus I'm very much an traditionalist when it comes to trucks. Even though I live in the Bay Area now, I've still been able to take my new Runner out for some fun and have been extremely impressed with it's off roading capabilities (even broke the fiberglass transfer case skid plate). I feel pity every time I see a 4x4 4Runner being driven by a soccer mom who doesn't even begin to realize or care what her vehicle is capable of.
Anyhow I figured I'd say hi, as I'll be poking my head around the forum from time to time.
Below is a pic of my Toy (I'm so proud)
