I joined the forum a few weeks back, and bought my second Runner. My first was a 1992, which was totaled about 6 years ago when I was hit, head-on, by a drunk driver. The fact that it held up so well, and my daughter and I were not injured, made me a believer in the safety of the vehicle. I also had a pretty substantial brush guard/winch on the front, which took the brunt of the impact. So, I intent to put one on this Runner ASAP.
As of now, though, the only thing I have done is remove all the smoked plastic from the windows and sunroof - just don't like the look, and it makes the windows seem smaller from the inside (if anyone would like to have these items, I'd be glad to give them away for the price of shipping).
The Runner is a 2002 SE, with 163K; runs great, but nothing has been done, other than new brakes recently, and oil changes every 3K miles. So, the first order of business is changing the timing belt and all the fluids, and new tires.
