Local big box has had Pennzoil Platinum synth on a long term price point of $22 a 5 qt bottle and I have been using it in all my vehicles. Well, all good things must end, and the Pennz. Plat. has jumped to $28 and the new $22 deal is Valvoline synth. Any reason NOT to use the Valvoline until the prices change again?

Probably been answered a dozen times before, but I could not find it with search. My bad.

Any full synth. Will be fine, and will not hurt your vehicle at all. I just kinda like staying with one oil brand, i was going to say like my beers, but i been known to switch it up at the local brewery. :peace:

^^ What he said.

Your (healthy) motor won't know the difference. Only thing that really matters is your brand loyalty.

Side note, most of the major players have rebates through out the year if you haven't already been utilizing it. Right now it's Pennzoil. Google their home site.

There is a forum of oil junkies called Bob is the Oil Guy. The seem to prefer Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra over any others based on the analysis they have done throughout the oil life.

It really depends on how long you're going between changes though. If under 10k, I would think the filter would matter more than the oil brand.
