ANOTHER Problem!

My driver's side door luck doesn't seem to be functioning properly. It doesn't lock or unlock when it should be. For instance, I'll hit the "unlock" button on the key fob and the door won't unlock. When I am driving, I'll put it in park and all of my doors will unlock instead of my driver's side lock. Anybody else experiencing this problem? Thank you!

have you had any work done on it recently? like new speakers or a alarm? i had the same problem and what was wrong was that the acual lock switch was pinned inside the panel and couldnt move so with a careful pry of the screwdriver i fixed it and it never bothered me again

Just got off the phone with the stealership. They quoted me at $500 to replace the door lock actuator! This is unbelievable! Does this price sound right to you guys?

He said that it would be so expensive because the part actually includes a motor (with the actuator) and that part is $250 and labor would be for 2 hours.

SOS!

-Have you tried reprogramming the fob?
-Does the lock work with the key?
-Go to the junkyard and start taking apart doors after finding out what locks are interchangable. If you get real lucky maybe it's easier to swap doors if you find the correct T4R.

I had a Supra many years ago. Sunroof motor went out. Dealer said $400. $20 and 20 minutes at the yard and I was singing George Harrison. Lock will be tougher but doable. Maybe a locksmith can help.

I had my lock actuator replaced in my 04. Yes $400-$500 is the norm at the Stealership. Mine would not unlock or lock at all with any power lock button or key fob, only the key itself.

I'm bumping this back to the top . . .

I noticed this now happening to my '03 on and off these last few trips. Any other advice from anyone besides the dealership?? Thanks.

I've had 3 of the 4 replaced so far. Thank goodness for the extended warranty.
They come in just under $400 for the repair in Atlanta.

Someone on here said in a post that they were easy to fix with a good clean and lube if you can get the door panel off and back on without too much grief.

This is the craziest advice I have ever seen. Replace a door for the door lock actuator? Really? The part can be found online for around 180.00 and it can be replaced in less than an hour.

I have done it.
