Another Rear Bumper Build.......

Here are some photos of the bumper being fabricated by Patco and myself. Patco is doing the hard parts:thumb3:. I've only fabricated the frame brackets. I'll update this thread with new photos as we progress.


Frame brackets are 3/16" 6" plate broke 1/4" off center. The inner plates haven't been added yet. they'll end up wrapping the frame like this |_|

The "sides" fabricated from 1/8" plate. The main tube is 3X5 1/8".

Good eye! The sides are similar. The main tube is a little bigger and the frame mounts are different. We also changed the end cap so it wraps the main tube. But from the side the look is similar.

after spending time in CBI's shop as they were building my armor. I am amazed at folks that are metal fabers. (I am not) they are creators and artist at the same time.

looks very clean! Looks like your frame mounts are going to go through the center beam as shackle hangers too? I had planned to do the exact same thing...Your bumper is very VERY close to what I have drawn out for my truck...can't wait to see it finished

Looks great! Nice and clean. Especially like how it lines up well with the rear flares.

Looks great. The only advise I could offer is to watch how tight you get it to the body, especially on the corners. These 4runners move a LOT.

We fully flexed the suspension before any final welding and there's quite a bit of room. It's an optical illusion in the pictures, there's ~ 3/4" or more clearance anywhere the bumper may contact the body.
