Another Rear Springs question?? :-)

Hi my friends, i have my 98 SR5 recall for the rear suspension about 3 months ago, the truck rides better but when i have some load in the back it feels like crap, i cant have 2 people on the back. I just install NEW KYB's all around, I don't whant to lift just a better & stiffer rear springs. Any ideas???

You could try '99 springs in the back.

x2 ... how is the outside stance of the vehicle? is the back sagged? How much weight do you have in the back on average? Stereo, tools/work crap, etc?

I have NOTHING on the back of my 4Runner, the springs where rplaced by the dealer 3 months ago, I went back & they told me that is an old truck and there is nothing that they can do for me ( I have 3 Toyotas in my house), that they don't have parts in stock for my 4R anymore. The truck is level back & front, just when i have a small load on the back I have the problem:wtf: By the way, where can i buy 99 OEM rear springs, i whent to my local junkyards and nothing....

They have a higher spring rate than the stock coils, including the 99s.
Stock coils are 160# and the 906 are 220#. They will handle loads better. They will probably not give much lift on a 98.

See if there is a ten digit part # on them.

I'm currently running '99 tall fronts with OME 906 rears, and it's perfect IMO, the stance is what I wanted, the ride is great, and no chance of sagging. I only gained 1/2" going from my stock springs to the '99 talls, and the rears now sit about an inch higher than the fronts.

Lots of the parts for our trucks aren't going to be in stock at the dealerships, but they'll be able to order them. I've never had any problems getting parts from the dealer.. just the price! There are still a ton of 3rd gens on the road so Toyota supports them well.

Sonoransteel.com sell new '99 OEM coils in their 3.0 kit, but I'm not sure if you can buy them separately from him?? But personally, I would tell that dealership that your coils are way too saggy and they need to correct the issue. And that is BS about the parts.

Airbags are another solution.

I have agree with those that say you have way too big of bump stops in there, that or the dealer put springs in there from a Buick.
Either way I would take it back to the place that you had the work done. Like ppl are saying, a dealership should be able to get you parts, so that doesn't make sense.
This 'dealership' sounds might iffy?!
