Yep. In a lot of those areas it's every 5 acres. The first time I saw it I thought at first it was an issue with the photo being pixelated. Nope. The scale is really hard to understand until you see it at that scale. All of this is within the last roughly 15 years. I cannot believe how the BLM allows this to happen. Even if you are putting in the wells shouldn't we limit the impact? Does each pad really need to take 1-2 acres of land and totally destroy it?

Now imagine the inevitable future when we stop using oil (yes, it will happen, the only question is how far in the future. 50? 100?) and rather than properly decommissioning the wells they just keep them running b/c it costs less to let them slowly fall apart than to properly close the site.

What? Are you proposing the government regulate and force energy companies to clean up their messes to protect the public?
That sounds like communism, socialism, liberalism, etc., etc.
What about letting the free market take care of it?

It’s quite ironic that you drive a vehicle that gets 22 mpg on the highway on a good day. You burn gasoline for sport in your 4 wheeling. You fund these big nasty dirty huge corporations weekly buy buying there products.

Put your money where you mouth is Mark. Sell your 4R and move close to work where you can walk or take public transportation.

Start being a raw vegan tonight. Start growing your own food in your own poop next week. ( a lot of fertilizer comes from petroleum products)

When your mom/wife/kids/boyfriend/significant other gets sick or hurt put them on the bus and take them to the hospital.
 
That’s right - all or nothing, put up or shut up. You drive a “gas guzzler,” better be ready, willing, and able to clear cut forests, dump any/every chemical into our drinking water, frack everything up, down, and sideways. Hypocrite.

I'm not the one who started the thread railing against EV's and then took a Right turn to rail against vegans. I am sorry if she keeps you up at night- most people have more pressing issues that cause insomnia.
