another starting prob

Car: 96 4x4 lmt. V6, 200K + miles

Prob: It only started after I shiped the truck to England. The guy who brought the car to us when we went to pick it up.

Not all the time but sometimeswhen you turn the key nothing happens, like there is no battery power. I happens more in the morrning when its been sitting over night. But like I said it doesn't always happen.

I am thinking about removing the starter and inspecting it.

Make sure the battery connection is good. Other than that, the starter should be the culprit. Rebuilding it with the contacts should be easy and cheap (~$10). Taking it out is kind of a PITA.

Same thing just happened to me. I drive a 2000 4Runner. Apparently Toyota's are famous for this. Just replace the contacts. I didn't have the time so I had a shop do it and I think it was about 140.00 with labor and everything. And they said removing it was a PITA.
