another suspension question with a twist.

I have a 97 4runner sr5 2wd and long story short.

I'm into car audio and have around ~500-600 pounds of equipment yes I know crazy so the trunk is loaded allthe time.
I am looking into the airlift 1000 kit to help compensate the sag and bottoming out on bumps.
pretty much shocks are probably blown and coils are sagged so if I measure from top of my tires to the top of the fender it's ~2.5"

but side note if I take out my sounds the coils spring back up to stock hieght with no sag. my truck has 107xxx miles

so my question is replace coils with HD ome coils? change shocks? add airlift?

working on a budget my main goal is to fix sag and have the truck drivable without bottoming out.
I'm thinking airlift for around 100 and should fix it?

OME 891s are good for that much weight, but if you take all that stuff out, it will have a big rake. You'd probably want to get some 881s for the front too if you go with OMEs.

4 OME coils with 4 OME shocks runs about $750 shipped. Although you can just get the coils, the suspension will be limited with the stock shocks because the OME shocks are extended. If you don't care about off roading and suspension travel, just the coils would work and that would be about $400 shipped.

It's very easy to do when you build a box out of a RED WOOD tree

I think going with replacement coils would be the best approach, the airlifts will work but I would consider them more of a "Band-Aid" for the sagging issue. Also, start a thread with some pictures/description of your setup, I like to consider myself a Car Audio nut myself and would love to see your setup!

haha story on that TRD offroad stickr was I put it on after a few months into ownership of the truck because I had plans of small lift and all that stuff but that flipped around as car audio started to become more of my main hobby haha

where is that post I saw last year with the guy who went with the airbags in his coils?? I know he ended up pulling them out not long after, and I dont think he was pulling that much weight.

haha i hope not most of the time im playing regular music not those bass heavy songs, considering all the cone area i have it makes it sound really nice at low volumes also. has a very nice kick

yeah see thats why i wanted to ask, but i assumed the thing with the airbags is they are made to help tow all those trailers and stuff i figure maybe or maybe not it will help with the sag ahha im hoping, then again im on a budget right now and down the line i will do a full suspension kit with the OME coils and shocks

but yeah i have a high output 220amp irragi along with a MLA module and 2 Kinetik 2400s and 1 Optima red top in the front.
My voltage is 15+ in the mornings (cold starts) and even when im pounding it full tilt i dont drop below 14 volts. so everything is well kept and ive been into car audio long enough that i can consider myself very knowledgable on the subject (not trying to sound snobby in anyway)

im running a rockford t30001bd (3600+watts @ 1ohm)
and a rockford t15004bd (350+@4ohms)

im not sure how much you are into car audio also but its nice to see some other 4runners out there that are into car audio world ahha

hopefully that airlift helps though, i put it into thought and wanted to try it because my friend also had it on his denali and he said it works good and he had it for quite some time. and he was running 2 18s so im hoping for the best.
