Another suspension swap brewing...

Whats going on everyone!!!?? As some of you know im a service manager at a toyota dealer, and today i worked on a heavily modified 2010 fj cruiser trail team edition. Ive helped him before, a year before i had my t4r. We got to talking and he said he still has his stock suspension (front and rear shocks and springs) with like 10k miles on them. I know they will work on our trucks since ive read they lift our t4r like an 1". We agreed on the price and will be picking them up next week.
:reddance::reddance: My question is can i just rip out the XREAS and swap in the suspension no problem?
Ive been searching suspension threads all afternoon and keep coming across the rear shocks not working without modification. Can anybody verify this?
I know the search button is our friend but ive been searching almost every key word with very few solid answers..

The 2010 shocks will not be a direct swap. This post somewhat describes the modification needed. You'll probably get 1" in the front, .5" in the rear.

I read it but no pictures of said modification needed....Is it just a lil grinding here and there? or did i not read that properly

Just a little grinding and some drilling is my understanding.

A little grinding on the lower shock mount for the front (on the acutely shock) (is a little too wide for our lower control arms.

And a little drilling of the upper shock mount on the frame, to allow the larger shock shaft & bushing to pass through.

Pretty simple, but i don't think you could ever go back to a 4runner shock for the rear.
