Another tire question

So I have an 04 SR5 and I am just curious if it is a good idea to put snow tires on my rig or should I just leave it be. What is everyones opinion on that?

you didnt say whats on her now, or what kind of winter your state has. personally, i use ATs all year round.

ahh sorry. I am in CT and the winters can get tough, but my neighborhood sucks and I like the option of knowing my equipment is capable. Right now she just has some realllly crappy pair of all season (or so they say) tires.... I think they are more summer than anything else. It was just a set of tires that the dealership put on to say it has new tires.

so i take it you recently purchased it? yea, i wouldnt go with an all season if i were you. like i said, i use an AT tire all year round so i dont have to hassel with changing. but if you dont mind that, u could always get winter tires ( bridgestone blizzak) but only use them for the winter, they would wear out in no time if you used them year round. would you ever consider an AT tire? if so, how aggressive? some good ones are - goodyear wrangler with silent armour, bridgestone revos, nitto tera grapplers, mich cross terrain, to name a few. check out tirerack for reviews.

Yeah I love tire rack! Its awesome. I dont mind getting a stricly serious winter tire, because come spring time I plan on getting a new set of rims and tires with my lift. I was also thinking of the Generals.....or Nokians, but those are big $$$.

yes, at $108 per tire you cannot go wrong with Silent Armors, local shops want $260 CDN per tire installed. $700 delivered for a set of four is way better that $1100 quoted in town. Mine will show up on 22nd and I can't wait to try them out in 1.5 feet of snow we have here in Western Canada. So far OE Mich CT doing quite well but I think GYWSA will be improvement in snow and off-road traction

Yeah I agree. I am definitely okay with 538 delivered to my door. They also have a really good review!
