Sorry to bump this thread, but have you had the light come back on since you posted this?
I have an 03 4r v6, I get the same problem on cold mornings. ABS, VSC Trac, VSC OFF, and BRAKE are lit up. Sometimes it stays on for the 5 min ride to work, other times it goes away after 5 seconds.
I replaced the master cylinder with one off of a Lexus 2 years ago and it worked fine for a long time. Took the car to a mechanic when the problem started occurring (doing it from november-december every fkn morning!) and they said it was the YAW rate sensor. Paid for that even though they didn't guarantee it to fix the problem, but it did stop it from doing it so often. They checked all my brakes and everything to make sure they worked and found a seized caliper on the passenger front and replaced it.
The past week it was warm in VA and I had no problems with it at all. Got in the car today with frost on the windows and it made the tone all the way to work with the dashboard lit up. No codes that I can read with my amazon scanner, but it reads codes fine.
It does have an aftermarket switch that disables traction control that requires the car to be turned off and on again to disable the override. Don't think that's the problem though because it didn't do it for the first 3-4 years I've had the vehicle.
I'm thinking about trying the brake switch mentioned in the thread and seeing if that solves the problem.
As far as driveability goes, it works fine when all the lights are on. Brakes are just as strong and don't seem to be losing pressure. The reservoir has plenty of fluid in it. I don't even mind the lights I just can't deal with the sound :lmao:
Have you found a solution? When the brake switch went out on mine, it eventually wouldn't let me shift out of park because the transmission doesn't know the brakes are on. It's a pretty cheap and easy part to replace, but go with OEM from a dealer or online. I bought one from O'Reilly's and had to replace it 3 months later. They replaced it for free, but I know it's going to fail again.

I have this situation currently. A normal OBD code reader didn't show the codes. I bought a ToyotaTech program which exposes much more granular information. Narrowed it down to a report of a bad wheel speed sensor. Bought a wheel speed sensor and replaced it. No improvement. Swapped the FR and RR wheel sensors to see if my problem moved, it did not. Checked voltage coming from the wheel speed sensor harness and they all come in around 11.5V. Checked resistance through the wire harness from the VSC controller through the speed sensor and they all come in around the same. If the systems report a bad wheel sensor, and it checks out from a cabling and signal perspective I'm not sure what to check next. Good luck!
Replaced mine (brake switch) and haven't a problem since. The switch looked and operated fine, guess there was something internal that messed up.

I'll update this thread in the fall/winter if the problem comes back. It's been really foggy/wet out in VA recently and it seems to be doing fine, where months ago it would tone all the way to work lol.
