Another wheel question. 17x8 vs 17x9 backspacing/offset.

So I'm finally in the market for new wheels and I didn't realize how much info there was to take in. I'll keep it simple. I am wanting to clear 295/70/17 tires which are supposed to measure about 33.3". I want to upgrade the wheels and I'd like to avoid wheel spacers, so this is the wheel I want.

If it doesn't show it's a pro comp 7105 that measure 17x9 with 6x139.7mm bolt pattern. I believe that is the correct bolt pattern? They make the same wheel but in 17x8. I want whichever one is gonna stick out farther. The 17x9 has 4.75" backspacing and -6mm offset. The 17x8 has 4.5" backspacing and 0 mm offset. If y'all could help me that would be awesome!

Also how can I be sure if it's hub centric or lug centric, because to my understanding it's gotta be hub centric?

You will have less chance of rubbing with the 17x8 and 0mm offset. The 17x9 and-6mm will look "cooler" at least to most of us.

Not counting wheel width. the 17x8 will be .5 inch further out to fender than the stock wheels. The 17x9 will be .75 inch further out.

You need hub centric for 4runners, i didnt look up the wheel so I don't know what it is. You can buy hub centric rings if needed for fitment

17x9 with -6 will put the leading edge of the tire into conflict with the forward edge of the rearward side of the fender (if that makes sense). An offset of 0 would give you a smidge better room in that area, and make a pinch-weld pound more effective for tire clearance (I think).

I rub the pinch welds with 18x9 -12 with the outboard edges of the tire. 285/60R18, so a much smaller diameter than you're looking for.

I couldn't speculate on the 17x8 because the tire bulge will work out quite differently.
