antenna mast replacement

Can anyone help me? I took out the broken antenna mast , but theres still a few inches of plastic in the motor , do I need to take out the motor and disassemble it? And most of all how? Thanks

Yes, you'll need to take out the motor, I have a write-up on my website how I did it and put in a permanent mast so I wouldn't have to worry with the hassle of what you are doing again.

From memory it seems like the motor just screwed together, so I imagine it is just taken apart that way, if the plastice piece doesn't just fall out after you take the motor out and turn it upside down.
