Upon purchasing my 97 4runner I quickly noticed that the power antenna didn't work, not only is it bent up, but the motor isn't working at all either (quite possibly due to the fact that the antenna is all bent up). My question is; has anyone replaced the stock power antenna with a standard non-power antenna? I really don't see the point in having a power antenna and would just like to replace it with a standard one. Is it as simple as taking out the entire motor assembly and collapsing power antenna and replacing it with a standard style non-power antenna? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys/gals.

How did you unplug it? I tried going through the wheel well but the damn quick connect wouldn't budge! Any tips?

cut the wires... if your never gonna use the auto antenna anyways then who cares
