Antenna

I need to get a new antenna. I'm looking for something kind of 'stubby' and fixed length.

Any suggestions?

Parts stores like Napa sell universal stubby antennas. I've personally put one on a 4Runner for someone who asked. They have universal masts too but I used a Tacoma one.

I have a stuby parts store antenna and I hate it, doesn't look right on the truck. I ordered the Tacoma antenna earlier this week, can't wait to install it.

Can you post a picture? I have also considered a stubby antenna. I spend a good amount of time off the pavement and I'm concerned about catching a whip antenna on branches.

Yeah, sorry bro but that stubby seems a little awkward there IMO. I don't think that's the best spot for an antenna from a "looks" standpoint. I hated the stock motorized one too so disco'd it and tied it in with the CB antenna with a little junction box mounted behind the head unit. Maybe get a longer antenna cable and try some different spots, you'll need a little antenna bracket but it will give you more placement options. Post a pic when you're done.

I totally agree. The antenna came from the PO and there were always higher priorities. Eventually I want to do what you did with a CB antenna, but the Taco whip will do for now.
