Antman's Foglight mod is awesome!

Just wanted to say thanks to [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] for posting up his foglight rewire mod so the fogs can be used when I want, not when the 4runner wants!

With a little help from Jeff, I modded his mod just slightly! Instead of the lights being independent from everything else, I wanted mine to work only when the parking lights are on, that way I don't need to worry about them being left on without at least the parking lights on! So, the now work with parking, low beam and high beam! I also used another wire from the same harness (2D) for power so that they are only on with key in the ignition position.

Thought I'd add a schematic for the mod for anyone who's more picture-oriented!

Couple of notes here, for those who want to wire them a bit different than mine or Jeff's, the power input wire (relay pin #87) can also be spliced to constant hot wire in case you want the fogs to stay on after getting out of the vehicle with your keys. The fogs will stay on as long as your parking lights do, and when those go off, it cuts the power to the fogs also!

Took me only about 1½ hours, but I'm comfortable with wiring and ripping apart dashboards. I also took a little time to look over the gauge cluster to see if I could tap into the pc board rather than run a separate led, that didn't pan out as I would have had to pull the needles off the gauges, and I've broken one on another car once while trying to do this so I left it alone and put a new led in.

This mod was well worth the time spent, and it was free since I had a bunch of extra relays and leds, but even without it, you'd probably be into it for under 15 bucks in parts, wiring and crimps!

Some needles you can turn past the stops and they will lock into place before removal, others you just pull off. I'm not 100% sure what these require so I chickened out, so far.
