Any brand of brush guard to avoid?

I might have the opportunity today to pick up a brush guard for 175 bucks...are there any brands that are not worth buying. I remember hearing something about Hunter? the ebay brand?

Avoid all brush guards for the 99+ applications imo. They stick out way too far, look ridiculous, and offer very limited protection (overall, impractical). If you've seen the look and like it then I can tell you my smittybilt brush guard was a decent build

mine doesnt have a brand on it, and i bought it off craigslist. looks good and i really like it, just bought tail light guards to go along with it

i would say hunter... i had one got rid of it because it wasnt designed to form the car good.

Hey now!, dont dog on brush guards, ive seen them do damn good against shopping cart assaults in the parking lots, especially at Wal*Mart.

I had a brush guard on my 95 Bronco. Saved my engine/front end from a deer. Was running 35 in heavy rain and a 6 point buck runs out in front of me. Brush guard was bent but my radiator/grill/headlights were fine. They do offer some protection if you get a half ass one.
