I have a 2014 thinking about buying a 2016, should I wait for the 2017? Does anyone know if the 2017 is going to be a new body style or any major changes?

Yes 2017 is supposed to be beginning of 6th Gen. No word yet that I've seen on what it'll look like though.

The 2017 4Runner is a carryover model with no changes, the model change over to the 6th gen will be 2018 model year or 2017 calendar year.

There has been no official announcement from Toyota, but most "experts" believe that the 6th gen won't start until the 2018 model year.

If I may ask, why are looking to spent all that money just to go up two model years?

I usually trade every 2-3 years and was thinking about trading up I have a black Sr5 premium now and my wife really likes silver and she wants remote start.

Remote start is an easy fix and most aftermarket remote start systems are light years ahead of the OEM systems in terms of range and options.

Changing from black to silver isn't as easy or cheap but it's still doable.

I'm just hoping the 6th gen doesn't follow the Nissan Pathfinder. If it does, it will be used 4runners for me.

One internet rumor mentioned the 2017 would get the Toyota Safety+ system. Blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control. This was only a rumor. Nothing confirmed.

I'm waiting for the 2021 7th gen. Which according to rumor will be fully amphibious. Also, steam powered, which will generated by a combination of solar and hydrogen technologies. Some say it will also be capable of short flight to by pass traffic jams, but I don't believe that part.

Well that's not exactly true. I'm sure people within the Toyota Corporation know when it is coming and what it look like too. :bolt:

I have a 2004 SR5, it's my first 4Runner, and I am hooked! I bought it new in 2004 and have almost 106,000 miles on it. ;-) I love it a ton but I think I'm ready for an update!

I'm really trying to hold out for the 2017 model! I'm hoping they throw some kind of improvement over the 2016 in it, so the wait for more news is killing me!

I found a good deal on a 2016 SR5 but if the 2017 has something cool I know I'll regret getting it. ;-) Anyone else feel my pain?!
