Just ordered my arb awning and was looking at mounting options. Most of them run from $80-$100 that's almost half the price of the awning! Has anyone made their own mounts to mount to a gobi rack?
Any cheaper way to mount arb awning?

Bit the bullet and went with these on my rig. Worth every penny IMO, the awning is solid!

Was on a quest and found these:

I know I would probably use a derlin spacer or something on the awning side and also use a locking nut, any thoughts, concerns, general turdery? Thanks

I had a local shop fab mine. $20-$25 in cost.

The only thing that comes to mind is duct tape. In copious quantities.

This is an awesome bracket that has taken a ton of abuse. I first used the supplied brackets that came with an iron man awning and they failed during a mild offroad trip on my teardrop trailer. I then found these and have tested and re tested them time and time again with no issues what so ever. The last trip we took was in the Lincoln National Forest in March and they were perfect. These are not too terribly expensive and like someone else said on here, they can be mounted to the factory stock rack.

FWIW I just followed the search term "baja awning mount" on eBay, so I would get notified if a listing came up for sale. After a month or two, I ended up getting 3 brackets that look like they were never used for $35 shipped. If you have the time to be patient, it's not a bad strategy. I tried Axia mounts, and they were adequate. but not nearly as sturdy.

I mounted my ARB yesterday on my Jeep using the Zinc brackets and U-bolts.
If I were going to leave this on long term I think adding angle braces between the top and bottom outside bolt holes would finish it off nicely...and a decent paint job. For <$19 I am happy.
When the T4R shows up and the rack gets mounted I will devise a much more solid mount that is removable for the 90% of the time I will not be toting it along to work and back.
Edit... <100 mile round trip and leaving the awning up overnight on the Lake Erie shore and the Zinc brackets are already bending down. I will be adding angles to reinforce these. Other than that, the awning was priceless given our spot had no trees and zero cloud cover for the little ones.
