Any Firefly - Serenity Fans out there?

After a run of more than a week, Serenity has finally dropped to #2 on Amazon (Wedding Crashers is #1), with the Firefly series box set sitting at #3. They have a real lock on the sci-fi category with the #1 & 2 positions respectively - even beating out all Star Wars & others such as Battlestar Galactica!

Serenity DVD still #2 on Amazon - the Firefly box set has gone to #5. WHAT A RUN! The writer, Joss Whedon says there will be more!!!

Simply amazing - Serenity & Firefly are still # 3 & 4 on Amazon! Going on 3 weeks in the top three or above! Yeee Hawww

We all went over tonight to see Serenity at a friend's home theater. This place is totally world class; such as huge woofers in the floor to make your molars shake, and a couple floor to ceiling racks of equipment. Everyone was wowed with the movie! It is totally a must see (even if you don't have a friend with a world class theater in his back yard)!

Serenity DVD #3 now on Amazon. It's in it's 4th week - and spent most of that time at #1! The Firefly box set is still #5. Both of them are making paradigm breaking history - demonstrating that while a show can be poorly promoted on TV & at the movies, it can be huge on DVD!

If you haven't seen either the movie or the short-lived series - WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR!? This is the best, most original sci-fi thing to come along in quite a while.:awais:

OK. Star Wars and Star Trek, I could live another day without. Anytime I've tried watching any of the movies from these series, it proved to be a big waste of my life and I couldn't stay awake long enough to make it through to the end. Ever. But this Serenity thing, I had never heard of it. I just picked the title off a DVD rental list. For the fact that everytime I go to Blockbuster to rent it, for over 3 weeks now and them not having it, makes me want to see it more than ever! They can't keep it in stock at Blockbuster?!?? For cryin' out loud!!! My friends all say Serenity is a 'must have' DVD. Now you bring up this Firefly flick. Another one that I have never heard of. So I guess I'm out in search of another title. I think a lot of the suspense here is in seeing whether you'll be able to find it on the shelf when you go out looking for it. I'm also a big fan of Widescreen. I've converted one of the rooms in my home into a theatre. I have a modest 64" Widescreen HD DLP with a crisp sound system that rocks the block in a room that seat about 30 people. My house is the place to be on SuperBowl Sunday. Thanks for adding to my intrigue on this movie. I'll be out looking for it again today and the Firefly follow up as well...NOW!!!

You actually have it backwards. Firefly was the series on TV that got cancelled prematurely back in 2002-03. The groundswell was so big, and the DVD sales of this series record-breaking, that they made it into the movie Serenity. Serenity came out to the big screen this October. It hit DVD Dec. 20th, and has been in the top 5 ever since - with most of the time at #1 on Amazon!
