Any heavier rear springs out there to maintain stock height?

Any higher rate rear springs out there to maintain stock height?

I've done a lot of research and the best I can come up with are the Sway-a-way rear springs on Wheelers that are 213lbs and will lift 1.5". Stock rears are 180lbs, so the SAW are an 18% increase over stock. That's perfect, I just don't want the added height.

Anyone know of any other springs on the market that will be stiffer and only lift the rear 1" or less? It would have to have thicker coils than stock but be a shorter length spring. Probably something that was designed for 4th gen I would think.

Yeah I've thought about airbags but I'm not sure. There were a few posts on this board from guys who bought them or were planning on getting them but I couldn't find a review or any opinions on how they liked them after installed and used for awhile. The price is sure right, I've seen them for under $100 shipped. I would still prefer a spring, install it and forget about it, one less thing to worry about or that could go wrong. I read on an Austrailian Prado site that some people have issues with the filler tubes crimping or wearing through.

Did you install the bags yourself? If not, what did it set you back to have this done?

I am in the middle of fixing a 4wheelparts screwup and the bags are an option for me.

I did the bags myself- and while I wouldn't say it was super easy, it wasn't exactly hard either, if your mechanically inclined. I gotta say, it's the best $100 I've spent on the 'Runner. They work great! Ride is still nice and comfy, or you can stiffen it up if you like. It does a great job of leveling the rear when it's loaded with junk...Highly recommended!
