Try measuring it -- the display is known to be way off. I typically get 20-22 on the highway, even though the display shows much higher.ChuckyD said:On the display when I reset it as I was driving for a good 20 miles.

deniss said:well it's nice to know that the V8s get fuel economy in the upper range. 15/19 looks a little steep, but i'm willing to overlook that. it looks like the new dodge durango will get a similar fuel economy with a 345-hp/375 lb-ft Hemi V8, which is puzzling to me because american-made cars don't normally have best fuel economy.

thats pretty bad that the Hemi can make that kind of power and still get the same economy. Why can't toyota crank up the power at the same fuel economy or do it with 87 octane.

What is everyone else running and are you hearing any pinging in the engine.!!
I'm using regular in an 03 v8 2wd. Just finished a 300+ mile trip in the southern california desert with temps around 100 that just got me up to 1000 miles. no problems and 21.8 while varing the speed between 55 and 75 to help break the engine in.
Had the temp set at 68 and had a great trip.
I'd use premium if I were towing a load, otherwise stick with regular.
