Just got my '06 SR5 4WD on Thursday. 21st b-day present from the mother. I am absolutly in love with this car. It makes my old honda civic look like trash. I wish I had gotten the car a couple months earlier becuase it would have been awesome to drive a couple miles over to WV (I go to James Madison University in western VA) and play in the snow.



I turn 21 on Saturday, I'm scared.

I'm trying to determine whether or not I want one on my '06...its a tough decision.

take it from someone who dealt with one for 2 yrs.

they suck for 3 reasons:

1) they cause more damage than they protect you from in an accident
2) they make washing your truck a little more annoying
3) if you ever happen to just lightly bump it (while parking or something), you can skew it slightly so that (without you knowing) at highway speeds or while hitting bigger bumps, itll actually make contact with your fenders.

so id say its useless and not worth the annoyance or potential damage.

just my 2 cents.

i agree with lee... i had one on my last truck before i totalled it. i have marks from where it struck my fenders, and it was pretty much useless... it didnt protect me from anything, except maybe a bush... which is perhaps why they call it a brush guard... as opposed to my ARB BULL bar... wonder why they call it that?
