Signed up to ride the MS150 in April, so the search is on for a road bike! It'll probably get more use than the MTB... no mountains in Houston. Not many dirt trails either. :doh:

Been riding my whole life, although I haven't been out much this year. Current fleet:
2010 Pivot Mach5 (main ride)
2014 Octane One Zircus (built sort of like an old school dual slalom bike)
2003 Balfa BB7 (my old race bike, now cleaned up and retired)

Found a leftover '14 Masi Premiare 3. More bike than I really need, but I got a decent deal on it. So far I really like the bike. 19.5 miles is my longest ride on it to date. Been able to avg. around 15 mph. Need to work on speed/endurance, but overall I haven't been too uncomfortable in the saddle, nor too sore after the rides. Still got a ways to go yet...

Finally getting around to posting a photo of my new MTB like I told [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] I would. This is my first real MTB, and I am enjoying the heck out of it (primarily a road rider). It's a 2017 Specialized Camber 29er. Didn't like how tight big tires would fit on a 29" wheel, so I went with a 27.5 inch 35mm ID WTB ASYM wheel and 2.8 WTB Trailblazer tires (tubeless). Just mounted them this week and gave the bike a cleaning. Haven't done much else to the bike other than Wolftooth grips, Look Quartz pedals, and new Rockshox decals. I like it the way it is. Look forward to getting it dirty again!

I am deciding on a MTB. My brother (an avid biker) is thinking of letting go his Specialized Camber 650b...he is offering it to me for $800. It is barely used...he is mainly a road biker.

I am a neophyte in biking...it there a better bike at $800 budget?

I would grab that in a second. Im new to the sport but looking around all the Camber's I've seen are in $2000 and up.

I'm not hardcore by any stretch but am blessed to live 40 minutes from Blankets Creek, some of the best trails in the Southeast, so I hit them as often as I can.

We're lacking in mountains here in Florida, but I ride trails and some decent hills. I currently have a KHS Alite 350. Hoping to go a model or two up the catalog soon and pass the 350 to my son. My wife has the alite 150 also.
