Any Mountain Bikers on Here?

OK...$23 later, my bike is adjusted to my height better...quick change of handlebar holder (sorry don't know official name) angle helped a lot. Front brake was rubbing a little...that was fixed.
And my minivan was perfect for transporting my bike to shop and back.

I have to tilt my bike seat down a tad in the front from where yours is. The pressure on the ole taint never stops otherwise. You'll know if you go too far because you'll feel like you are sliding down/forward.
Be super careful if you slide it down that you don't move it forward or backward! Most of us mark a string or very carefully measure from the stem or mark the rails with a marker.
That forword/backward measurement is very important in bike fit.
I get a big book set it on the saddle and use a level to make it flat to the ground and then microadjust from there.
My bmx trained buddies actually like that forward upward tilt, so my apologies if that is your style. They jump a lot!

If it helps the justification I have at least that many and I'm not a coach. Just a dude that bikes to offset IPAs.

I rode mountain bikes all through my childhood and they were my primary mode of transport until I got my Jeep.
I rode all through college until I had a bad crash and quit riding for a while.
Fast forward about 10 years, my wife and I are on a motorcycle trip and we end up in Telluride. Everywhere around me are these badass bike with disc brakes and everything. My wife saw my eyes and just shook her head....'so whats this going to cost??'
Turns out, a lot! Bikes got bloody expensive!!
I searched and search and finally narrowed it down a couple that I really wanted and ended up with this; a Giant Reign (about third or fourth-hand...)
Im 6'3 230 so I need something big and strong that wont break... because I've broken a few frames.

Ive ridden this bike for a few years and even in a few triathlons as pictured above. Tired of getting passed by everyone in creation I finally broke down and added a road bike to the garage and dont hardly ride the Reign at all.
Every time I think about selling it, I'll take it out for a ride and not want to get rid of it!
I did make a pilgrimage to meet Mert Lawwill because I'm a motorcycle junkie and learned while I was at his house that he invented bicycle suspension and that when the bicycle guys come over to visit, they want to hear the entire story about how they tested the first bike suspension on the hill there in Tiberon - the birthplace of the mountainbike...

I am a lunch lady and have that many....and then there is the 13 year old's 3 bikes, and the hubby's got 5.....we met while riding bikes....

Ok...someone explain to me about "lefty"...why just one side shock...that just seems so imbalance and stress on stem????

It doesn't affect the stem at all. They're lighter and counter-intuitively stiffer by manner of larger tubing and being dual crown. The fact that it's one leg means it can be built up and still be lighter.

I don't care what people say.... the lefty is a design exercise, nothing more. Something that will differentiate one brand from another. A marketing ploy. It most assuredly IS NOT a better design than a two shock system. If it was, don't you think other manufacturers would do it?
But, it works. Cannondale did their homework and made the concept work. It is strong enough (nowhere near as strong as you can make a two shock system though) and functions just fine. The guy I ride with rides a carbon version and loves it. Again, it works fine but zero advantage. The lightest bikes still have two supports up front and the most hard core bikes (downhill) still have two shocks up front.
And guys, I am not knocking the bike. It is a good bike but there is zero advantage beyond marketing.

I'm not really a fan of the Lefty and only have one because of a deal on the F29. In fact it kinda freaks me out because if anything happens and that hidden bolt loosens up the only warning you're going to get is rotor rub. Every. Time. I get over 30 MPH I look at that wheel and wonder if I should have retorqued it. That ain't a worry at all on my through-axle forks.
But, playing devil's advocate here, sure you can make a lighter dual-leg fork if you don't mind a noodly hot mess. You can also make a much-stiffer triple crown downhill fork with 46mm stanchions if you're okay with a 10# fork.
Yes, it is another instance of Cannondale breaking standards to be Cannondale but that doesn't mean it's not an interesting feat of engineering and a good combination of traits.
(It's also kinda cool being able to change a tire with the rim on the bike.)

I just started mountain biking last year. Started off with a 2016 GT Backwoods. Returned it and bought a 2014 GT Zaskar. Returned that to buy a 2016 GT Zaskar. Returned that and bought a 2016 GT Helion Expert. Thank god for Performance Bike's return policy lol.

I've been mountain biking since 1991. I finally joined the full suspension club last year when my back couldn't take a hardtail anymore. I picked up an Intense Spider carbon with an XT group, 140mm travel. It cost as much as a used car, but was well worth it.
