One of the trail groups around here started using goats to keep the sumac under control. It covers all the heavily traveled trails within a couple weeks in the summer.

Yep, good eye. My wife was also on a DW link 5.spot. Now she's on a 650b Ibis Mojo and absolutely loves it.

A fellow Eggbeater fan, I see. I had the worst time transitioning to clipless pedals until I discovered those. I need to pick up a newer, lighter set for my new bike.
All I've ridden for a bit over 10 years. Robust, serviceable, light, easy to clip in regardless of conditions.

I ran them for year, but then started to have major issues. After several pairs seized up, I switched to Time. I have never serviced them after many thousands of miles on multiple pairs riding in crappy conditions.
See you're from just outside of Charleston, great trails you have there. I hit some up on the way back from a race in Ohio a couple years ago with a Charleston rider.

Eggs Beaters here too. Super light and Crank Brothers has great customer service and there HQ is local to me when issues do present themselves it becomes a non issue.

I think you are good friends with the Cannondale rep lol.
I have a few Treks, a Cannondale, a Specialized and a few others. I pretty much only ride the Trek Stache 29+ now though. Once you ride with 3.0 tires it's way too hard to go back to having only a few lines to ride.

Used the 4Runner to take my older son out biking. He took a good spill, even managed to break my carbon handlebar in the process. Front wheel took a beating too.

I considered fattening the old 29er, but I'd have to swap drivetrain components due to chainline.

We just added another mile to take our local to eight miles. I have sweat equity in these trails lol. When you coming up? Just remember to wait on me at the top lol.
I was down at Hawk's Nest a few weekends ago. I want to work out a road loop from HN to the gorge and back around, but I haven't studied the area enough. If I can get my buddies to come down and bring their wives and kids for some camping, I can probably make road and MTB happen some weekend down there. Any good campsites with hiking trails nearby?

Yikes! Glad it wasn't worse. Looks like he left the right side fork tube somewhere on the trail too. lol..lefties are still crazy looking to me.

We should all meet up at Stokesville, Douthat, or Pisgah. Do some singletrack one day and trails in the 4Runner the next.
