Any picts of Baby seats in a 1st gen?

Im thinking of moving back into a 1st generation 4runner from my 3rd generation. Do any of you have experience hauling around a kid in your 1st generation. Picts would be great of the car seat in the back. Kid transpo would only be when camping usually. The misses will have a wagon of some sorts for the daily duties.

Funny, me,my wife, and our 1month old are going out today for a lil trail ride. He hasnt been yet, so we gotta get him started early. Im sure others on the board have done it already,but ill post a few pics when i get home this evening

Op I think your probably better of either keeping your 3rd gen and getting a first gen or keeping uour 3rd gen. Good luck!

Gentle trail rides for sure. I didn't put my kids in till they were two years old. Putting a bucket in the back will be a real PITA. Mainly because it's a two door. With the top off it's easy peezy

541joseph- Im back and forth between both those ideas really. The 3rd gen just isn't cutting it for me on so many levels. Yeah its quieter, smoother, and has more power but I dunno... I loved driving my 1st gen. Might look at some FJ62's. To be honest the misses and I will be using her car for 98% of the time when the kid is in the car.

Haha if someone didn't know about a newborns neck muscles at this age, they shouldn't have kids. The trail i went on today is a fireroad with very little obstacles and bumps. Could have taken the wife's mazda easily. So between the road itself, VERY sliow pace, and a decent car seat with a neck support built in, we were fine

My wife dailys our 1st gen with a toddler and a baby seat. Are you looking for pics more of the newborn seat? I can post one up tommorrow if u would like. Its definatly tight with the newborn seat but quite doable

We have our 1 year old in the first gen all the time. Its a little more work if you keep the seat in the truck and crawl in the back to put them in the seat, I put him in the car seat first then carry him to the truck and set it in the base, super easy for me but not for the fiance. It definitely can be done haha, and theres going to be an "ugly stage" where the car seat gets bigger and doesnt have a removable base, but as you can see in the other pictures the forward facing seats are a cake to fit.

I think when our son was around 7 months old we went offroading for the first time with him in the 2nd gen, when 152 out of Gilroy was shut down due to an accident and the map showed some dirt roads that would make it out to I-5. Maybe Pancheco pass? Nothing too tough, but my wife wasn't happy that her son was bouncing around a tiny bit.

OTOH, there's no air bags to worry about, in the 1st or 2nd gens.
