Any Problems with 2012 4Runners

I'm looking to purchase a used 2012 SR5 Loaded 4Runner with 36k from a non-Toyota dealer and they only offer to give me a after market warranty that I'm not hot on. Is there anything problems that 2012 4runners SR5 are known for? I wish it was at a Toyota dealership for a Toyota wrap gold warranty. With all the electronics and add-ons it's worth the $$ for extended warranty in my opinion.

No known problems! Take your mechanic with you to evaluate the truck 'BEFORE' you buy, negotiate the "Turn key" price, and buy with confidence! Rgds

Definitely find out the details of who is offering the warranty. There are many of these companies that disappear, and you are left with a meaningless piece of paper.

Yes, one huge problem, once you have one, and hang out on here for a while, you will start spending large amounts of time and money on mods for your truck. Or, at least day dreaming about same.

Have your mechanic check it out. Also see if you can have your insurance agent run VIN number to check for wrecks or totals. Sometimes bad stuff won't show up on car fax but apparently the car folks have access to other databases that show car history. Don't want to get burned by a rig that went through a flood or was otherwise totaled.

Mine has a few issues(nothing major), but as far as I can tell, they seem to be mostly limited to mine. So that's great..... I would not hesitate to buy another one, I think I may have just gotten one that was built the day after some Japanese holiday where large amounts of drinking was involved. Anyways, 2012 is the last year to get a 4Runner without the pesky injection pump (not a huge deal, but one less thing to go wrong). As others have stated, buy with confidence. If the warranty is free, take it, if it is not, don't get it. It's a Toyota...extended warranty's are for Fords and GM.
