Any reason not to replace current 4Runner with a new Sequoia?

I'm not in any hurry. My 08 V6 Runner tows my 20' bass boat just fine any where I want to go and still looks new @ 94,000 miles. But as stated if mother Toy screws the update on the next version Runner I'll be in a Sequoia. The 2018 TRD Sequoia looks interesting.

There was a guy on Facebook trying to sell his 16 sequoia that he converted to a trd pro front end and fenders. Looks pretty bad ass

Double checked last night, my current gen Sequoia with leather, the '07 4Runner with leather both in same driveway. The Sequoia has a lot more room for the driver, leg room and all around. Head room is more but not a lot. I'm barely 6' but always have my 4Runner seat all the way back to drive. I never have the Sequoia seat all the way back. The earlier Sequoia's may be different, never owned one.

Again, I like both vehicles- heck I haven't even dumped the old 3gen Runner as I have a soft spot for it's reliability and off road manners. Made it my airport car!

I looked at the numbers on the Toyota site a few weeks ago did that side by size comparison.

For the too big people the Sequoia is 15" longer just 4" wider than the Runner a whole 2" a side!

For the too cramped people the only place the Sequoia is smaller inside and it is by a substantial amount considering it is head room. The Sequoia looses 4.5" to the Runner which I agree is crazy! So yeah it your a tall person your out of luck here. But every were else as expected it's larger.

Also to everyone who says good luck parking, you guys are acting liking its a MACK truck? Spacial awareness I feel is something lost by most drivers these days. Is the Sequoia bigger, sure, but its not like its impossible to park in the city. You may just not get the closest spot to the store as the general populous can't park in between the lines anyways. Either way my first car was a Yukon XL lifted and was a former Union Pacific Rail truck....the thing was the best thing to have even in the highschool parking lot. No matter the size if you couldn't find a parking spot worst case you could always just make your own, just like I have seen some guys do here with their 4runner. The reality is the Sequoias aren't that massive, you see the amount of bro dozers and trucks with people who live in the city seem to do just fine.

I've been looking at the sequoia recently to replace my wife's highlander. Nothing wrong with hers. But we want something bigger than my 4Runner that has a useable 3rd row that can tow our boat and camper. The 3rd row in the highlander and 4Runner are ok if you don't plan on bringing any luggage. My sister in law just got a new 17 Lexus GX460. Nice ride but same size issue. No storage space with 3rd row. Not sure what we will do. But the Sequoia fits the bill for me. Besides price...

I didn't say you did? But if the seat could possibly be adjusted up/down maybe that would account for it? Also I dont know if he is comparing the last generation as opposed to the newer/stale model.

I was seriously considering a Sequoia for its tow rating. That is until I saw its payload ratings. Sure it can pull 9k# but your tongue weight better be small or you will be over loaded. Sadly, the max payload of the Tundra is only 1400# and the Sequoia less.

I know. I'm a party pooper but payload is just as important as tow rating.
