any snowmobilers out there

anyone tow snowmobiles with there 4runners? what a dog the 3.4 is hauling a single sled on a single homemade trailer. oh well... still plenty of fun to be had. if i wasn't so cheap i'd buy an aluminum trailer. but why bother when you have friends to borrow them from.

Having the ETC button helps when towing. And have the overdrive off when hauling uphill.

I ride my father's 800 RMK, but I suck. I built up a strong back, though, from digging out the sled so many times. :biggrin2:

I wish i had a sled to post a picture of. Someday...

Im going to look to buy a cheap one as soon as this season ends. I think a buddy and i are going to go in on one.

words of advice... don't go in on one with a friend. it's never a good outcome. there are cheap sleds out there. for about $2500 you can have a good used sled with low miles... just search craigslist. even a 10-15 year old sled can be picked up for about $1k. they stop depreciating after 12 years or so... as long as they stay running

lol, i was thinking cheaper. Im in college and cant afford even $1K. And if i had that much i would spend it on my runner instead of buying a POS sled. :bigok: I've been looking on craigslist and found quite a few for $500. So if i can spend like $250 just to mess around with my buddy for a winter that would be ok with me. Someday i'll buy a nicer one though. Gotta start making some real money first though.

I was just up in Northern VT riding last weekend, we did about 500 miles in 3 days and it was awesome. Snow conditions were incredible with basically no bad areas. I personally don't own a sled but I ride my friends spare machine, its an 02 Ski Doo MXZ800 Adrenaline chassis, its the year before the Rev came out. I am planning on a move to VT or ME within a few years and a new sled will be a necessity, here in central MA its hard to justify, although so far this winter we have had a lot of snow and it seems to be staying, with another foot on the way this week.

Me and my brothers own our own motorcycle/atv/snowmobile parts and accesories website and we also sell machines. So i get to ride a year or 2 old ski-doo 800. This year im riding a 2006 Ski-doo summit X 159". Ive pulled a yamaha rhino with my 4 runner and it was a dog on steep inclines but loved the way it towed
