Any suggestions on what to use to remove adhesive tape?

I just removed the vent visors on my doors. I tried to pull most of it off with my fingers but there is still quite a bit left.

Lighter fluid will remove it (and road/roof tar) but also stips wax off in the process. Goo gone may not strip wax, not sure on that one....

Goo Gone Gel Spray is the way to go. It's perfectly safe for auto paint, and won't damage anything. You can also get adhesive remover from most part stores that works pretty good.

I'm a fan of Tarminator. Picked it up from autozone but it worked wonders removing sticker adhesive and pin striping from the side of my 4runner

If you use goo gone, make sure its the citrus stuff. Theres some other stuff with the word 'goo' in the title and its full of stuff that will eat paint.

I've used 3M adhesive remover, it is only available as an aerosol in CA, but you may be able to buy it in true liquid form. Either way it works well and won't harm paint or gerbils.

I used 3M glass cleaner they make one just for ventvisor but this worked i pulled mine off the other day took 4 hours to get off clean wash and wax the area looked fine.

isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, the stronger % the better.

IMO, Goo Gone works pretty good but leaves a bit oily film where applied. The other stuff called Goof Off looks and acts more like a really strong rubbing alcohol and evaporates very quick withou a trace.

I use both quite often depending And depending on the surface I'll chose one.
[MENTION=91068]Coveman[/MENTION]. You went right for the big gun with the brake cleaner - that stuff has got a few paint scrapes off my Outback that I thought were there permanently.

I keep all 3 handy, but reach for the Goof Off most of the time.
