any tips on changing the timing chain?

i'm gonna dive into my engine this week and change out my timing chain. i got a 89 4-cyl 4runner (22re). anyone have any tips for me to make the process a little easier? (step by step would be EXCELLENT, but i understand that that is time consuming). i've never changed a timing chain before, and i'm a little nervous because i know that if i time it incorrectly after everything is done, then BOOM i need a new engine. and i don't want that to happen.

Very time consuming you have to take the oil pan off and head off you almost dismantel the whole engine to change it.

Timing Chain

I did one many years ago. I don`t remember the exact steps, but I didn`t take the head off. The oil pan is recommended to come off if the chain broke, just to get any shrapnal in the pan. One thing I can say is to turn the crankshaft about four times around with a wrench or ratchet when the new chain is on, just to make sure the timing marks still line up correctly.
