Any way to LOWER the front driver seat?

Has anyone ever LOWERED their drivers seat successfully?
I searched and didn't find much.
I am looking to get a 2021 Limited/NS for the "AWD".

I sat in one today, but hung legs outside as it was raining and didn't want to get the inside all wet as there were no floor mats.
I didn't look underneath the seat to see how much space there was and didn't think to take pics in the rain.
Anyone have some PICS or ideas???

The top of my head touches the headliner with the seat bottomed out.
I am sure I could lay the seat back some more, but sometimes on long drives, I need to sit up straight as the slouched position starts to become painful with the lack of leg support on the seat bottom for taller people.

Since all Limited/NS models come with a sun/moonroof, I guess I am SOL?

The SR5 w/o moonroof is "fine".

I have more than a few Toyota vehicles, and an 02 4Runner Limited with moonroof I have, while more narrow for shoulder room, offers about 2-3 more inches of headroom as I have no issues with that one.

With power seat I haven't found any way to lower it. I am 6'4" and have a Limited with a roof. The roof requires the headliner that does eat up some space. With the seat in the right position, it works for me but does not give much room...Best of luck to you. If you fine or come up with a solution, please share.

I have a 99 Discovery SD that has plenty of head room, which I only use for snow now, but looking to replace that and an 02 Limited.
Trying to downsize the collection.

Have you ever tried 700+ miles non-stop?
Any pains from the position?

Do you drive with the shade open or closed?

I'm 6'7" and specifically got my ORP without the sunroof, which was hard to find. Sunroof was a total no-go and without it I don't have much space, but it works.

It took me some time to get used to this, because the sight lines out the windshield are lower, but I was perfectly fine with it after a coupe of weeks. I don't find myself tucking my neck or anything.

I have a Tacoma X-Runner.
Talk about an F'ed up seating position.
The clutch placement isn't ideal for me to stretch out.
Accelerator was fine, but the clutch forced me to move a few notches closer.

I found out the lower back pains when I was rolling 35k+ a year in it. :crybaby:

(I have a few vehicles and the Land Rover Disco 1 is the king of head room for me)

There is ONE GMC/Chevy I am interested in.
The RST pickup in their RED color.

But I don't need a pickup.
Just played around with their config pages for the Tahoe and Yukon and nothing impressive.


I have not bought a non-Toyota since 1999, so I am extremely hesitant to stray away.
One van has over 500k on the ticker. The other van over 320k.
The X-Runner has like 170k but it mostly sits these days.
An 02 4R Limited with about 80k.
Camry with 260k.
And a few others...
I hate to even think about a Ford.
I want something that starts every day and doesn't need to go to the dealer like a Hyundai.

The only photo I can find what I need to see is for the risers.
I am wondering if the seat rail can be cut off from the mounting foot, then weld basically an under-hanging bracket to two sides of the foot that the seat rails would be inside of. Picture an "L" bracket with the seat rail on the horizontal of the "L".

That would drop the seat some after the mounting hump that the foot bolts to.

This guy is 6' 3" and added aftermarket seats and says head room did not change much.

Just got back from the dealer.
Turns out I can adjust the seat to a comfortable position and not hurt my neck on a bad bump without modding it.

Now to wait a few weeks to take delivery.

I know the seat jackers look silly for helping, but they actually help with legroom / headroom etc. It only raises the front of your seat, providing better support under the thigh. With the slight angle and being able to lower the rear of the seat down to its lowest position, I find myself more comfortable with no loss of headroom.

I'm 6'3" with a sunroof BTW. 34-35" inseam.

I drove a Tacoma before the 4Runner and the lower seat was even less comfortable and was an immediate turnoff for buying one (didn't know about seat jackers at the time).
