anybody done the HID Hella conversion?

Ive heard quite a few great things on this conversion and cant believe ive just now found out i can do this. I plan on ordering the 55 watt kit from
HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning and i see it has an option for a harness and some other wiring. Anyone know since ive already got wires run for the lights on my bumper if i need to get any of the options? Thanks

yeah, its INSANE how bright they are. ive always wanted HID's but dont have the will to try and retrofit something -figured why not throw em in my fog lights. turns out there are tons of pages of people doing this and the pattern from the Hella 500 driving lights are awesome. searched another board and supposedly you dont need anything else besides what comes in the kit.

Yep. I'm going to get the 700s and put the 55w in them.

They should be REALLY bright.

The conversion doesn't look that hard either.

real nice writeup with an idea of how much brighter they are over stock halogens. they are exactly 3 times (stock hella 500 is 3300 lumens and with 55w HID its 9900)

I did this a while ago using those ddm kits. And they are awesom. Clemsonfan15 has some pictures that I sent to him and im sure he would agree that they are bright.

I showed my friend how to do this and he has been selling them converted on jeep forums for $250 a set.

Its really easy and way worth it

I have been waiting to find 99-02 headlights to put the DDM tuning HID's in them, but never thought of converting Hellas...

It works and the outcome is amazing. Way eaasier than a retrofit also.The 55 watt kits appear to be on backorder until 11/17 but next week ill be placing my order and getting in line. arty:
