Anybody else have morning squeaks from the brakes ? 2020 4Runner [emoji23]

2020 with 4k miles, have had the morning squeak on the first 1-2 brakes of the day, every day since it rolled off the lot with 7 miles. Mine is garage kept every single night, so I have a very, very hard time imagining it's overnight rust.

My 2020 has done this since day 1 as well, and I've never had a vehicle do this. It's annoying, but not exert energy to do something about it levels of annoying yet.

Agreed! It's normal in moist environments.

Suck it up, deal with 1 squeak a day and get on down the road. It could be worse, like the brakes don't work or the engine doesn't start.

Mine sat outside this week for 5 nights at the airport’s covered parking. It was hot, humid and rained while I was gone. Tried to back out and pads were stuck to rotors and slight squeaking when braking during first braking.

Mine never sits out and never squeaks.

It’s rust.

I just picked up my 2020 4 days ago and while my breaks are not squeaking my brake pedal is . For about the first inch of depressing it I can hear some sort of squeak . Is this normal ? Somewhat annoying that a brand new truck has this . It’s not loud but I can definitely hear something .

True, rust can develop quickly on rotors in damp conditions, but the shit brake pads are the culprit for this. Mine have done it since I had them replaced with the lower tear OEM pads at the stearlership. I checked my rotors after a couple days and they squeak initially without any rust.

Yeah they all do this. Kind of sounds like air coming from the pedal. I Had horrible break squeaking in the winter when i first got my Runner. Cant say for sure it was only weather related. I think its the pads also but we’ll see if it comes back when The weather changes.

Kind of annoying , so far no break squeak for me but hey I have less than 200miles on the truck so far . If it starts happening I will for sure be putting that warranty to use . I did have the steering wheel start shaking at about 58-60mph , made a service appointment as I read it’s common but canceled as for some reason it seemed to have gone away .

Squeaky brakes are apparently "normal" on the 4runner. Never had any other vehicle I owned used or new do this (and i've owned 4 new vehicles from 4 different manufacturers in the last 6 years and 5 other vehicles since mid 2000's all in the same driving conditions/environment) so I think this is BS. Vehicle is garage kept.

I bought my 2020 last Oct and had the squeaky brakes all throughout winter so basically the first 4k miles. Most mornings it was nails on chalkboard bad. Thankfully that hasn't happened the last 2k miles or since spring so i'm hoping it is a nonissue moving forward. We'll see if it returns this winter.

I opened up a case with Toyota. Dealership is no help. They can’t replicate the problem. Just gonna swap brake pads and rotors. What brand should I go with? Any aftermarket 5th Gen Brake combo work?

Well I'm 2 years late to this party but I'm glad I've so far spent 200 bucks in diagnostic fees and labor having both parking brakes looked at.
