Greetings,
My sister got herself and her 97 Limited backed into in a parking lot, pretty much trashing the drivers rear door.
We've got a new door from a donor and it's in great shape....aside from the fact that it's not the same color. She has Sunfire Red Pearl.
Question: Anybody ever rattle-canned a door? I stripped, touched-up, & re-painted my fat-lip bumper back in January with a 3-step process using duplicolor primer/perfect match paint/clear coat.....and I'm very pleased with the results for the cost and effort I actually exerted:
That said, its clearly not a professional paint job, but it's held up since the beginning of the year and I'm pleased.
As the titles states: anybody ever DIY painted a door? Obviously if I'm considering DIY rattle can, I'm not 100% concerned with a "factory finish". I'm just trying to help little sis out and get the job done for the cheapest out of pocket possible.
Yeah, it's a 20 year old truck and brand new blended paint in a can....so there are obviously going to be some differences in paint tone.....but I'm confident even the right color Sunfire Red just a few shades off will look 1 million times better than a Stellar Blue Pearl door would look...
