Anybody out there done White Rim in a stock 4th Gen?

OK, So 20 years ago I lived in Moab and never did the White Rim trail. I am heading back this summer with my daughters (12&14) on an epic road trip to show them our awesome country and would like to do it. I have planned a week of our 4 week trip just for Moab because of my fond memories of the area. I have a bone stock 04 SR5 V6. Just looking for input from anyone who might have done it recently. Maybe current information on trail conditions and difficulties. Thanks in advance for any information!

shouldn't be a problem. only a few tricky spots with a lower clearance vehicle. Now if there are any washouts to damage that might be another story. But last time i ran it a stock vehicle could do it with good spotting in those tricky locations.

x2 and I'll add you should plan on camping halfway to enjoy the drive and scenery otherwise it's a long day.

I have a bone stock 04 SR5 V6. Just looking for input from anyone who might have done it recently.

Did half of it 3 years ago. There were some washed out switchbacks on the west side that prevented a full circuit. Definitely check with the park service beforehand. Truck has sliders (never needed) and 265/70/17 LT tires.

If you're motivated to do it and assuming nothing drastic has changed it's totally doable but you should understand what you're in for. The going will be slower than you probably expect. Not from difficulty but there is a lot of uneven terrain. Be prepared to put it in low range and keep it there. There aren't enough opportunities to go to high range in a stock suspension to make it worth switching back and forth, imo.

If you're going to camp at least one night and are prepared to take your time while in the drivers seat, it should be great.

You should be able to do it with no problems. We spent 4 days on the trail 2 years ago. Drove a 2010 Tundra crew max with running boards. If you want to camp I would check ahead of time to reserve a spot. Also I wouldn't do the trail if it was raining as it will get really slick.

I did it in a stock 3rd gen on 32's in 2012, and while we were eating lunch at the top of Murphy Hogback, a bone-stock blue 4th gen drove right past us.

I can't foresee any problems. There are only 2 parts of the whole trail that can be considered "4wd", that's Murphy Hogback and Hardscrabble Hill. And really, you probably COULD make it up and down Murphy Hogback in 2wd, but using low range would save wear and tear on your transmission and brakes.

Thanks for the input folks. I plan on taking 2 days so that we can enjoy it. I did quite a bit of 4wheeling while I was there including Poison Spider and Moab Rim in the 72 Scout I had at the time. So I consider myself aware of what the area has for terrain. Just never did white rim because of the length.
