Anybody used NAPA DeWalt Trade In?

I have an older DeWalt cordless drill that doesn't work too well anymore. I was searching for current running trade in promos and see that NAPA is running one until the end of June wherein you give them an old tool and they give you an instant rebate on a new DeWalt tool.

It's been running since April 1 and runs through the end of June. Anyone take advantage of this?

Is your battery shot?

I'd get a M18 Milwaukee. I have them and my son has them. He has the 3/8 and 1/2 impacts and uses the hell out of them on a near daily basis working on cars.

FYI my Fastenall does Milwaukee repair and warranty work, may do Dewalt too.

We get (car) battery cores picked up by Interstate, the rep took my drill battery and it was $35 to have it rebuilt to literally better than new. It was a much better use of money than replacing the drill. Just something to consider.

That's actually not a bad idea. If I'm honest, the batteries are the only thing that's bad. I didn't want to pay $70 for a new battery when I could get a new drill for only a few dollars more. Re-coring batteries is considerably cheaper and would allow me to extend the life of the drill.

Where can you get that done out in the world if you don't work for a garage?

You could probably still do it through Interstate through the mail or something. Try looking up interstate or a local battery plus type or something. They took my battery and but new guys in it with a higher amp hour rating and a touch higher voltage and it was $35.

I used to just buy a drill when the battery crapped out too.

A local interstate or batteries plus should be able to do it. It's a walk in type service. Just do the battery of and they will call when is done.

Interesting, i have a bunch of Dewalt tools and 2 NiCad battery packs that are failing. Will either of these 2 places rebuild the packs with NiMH batteries?
